Joystick Update!

The joysticks that originally came with the cabinet worked as a "starter" set for awhile, but were quite worn. Additionally, as 8-way joysticks, their design reduced the playability of the games designed for 4-way joysticks, such as Pac-man.

Mag-Stik Plus!

The Mag-Stik Plus joystick is particularly exciting, because it can be switched from 8-way (diagonal) mode to 4-way (original) mode from the top!

Disappointingly, the mounting plates that came with the sticks was too small to be useful for my cabinet, so I drew a template and emailed the design to a few machine shops to see if they'd make a couple of them for me. 3 of them ignored my email completely (excel-machine.com, buschprecision.com and afab-ent.com), and 1 emailed me back to tell me they were "too far behind on too many projects for new parts" (polarpowerinc.com). Maybe making a few custom plates wasn't interesting enough to them, or maybe they've managed their companies so poorly that a 10 minute job would overwhelm them. Perhaps they just can't use email. I'm just speculating here. But in any event, I'll spell their company names out after this paragraph so they'll show up when people do websearches and they can read how well they did with my inquiry. So, I bought two cans of Crisco to make into mounting plates!
